Real-Life Therapy

Over the years, the more I studied ASD and worked with my son with a more pro-active mindset, the more I became sure that my “Real-Life” approach was the key to working successfully with him to set him up for life in the real world.  As a result, I ended up developing an extensive library of tools and resources to help us work together.

As the name implies, I used these tools and resources as a form of therapy – the difference to other therapies was that I found I could use these things in our everyday life, as the need arose, as opposed to waiting until our appointment time with traditional therapists, where Brandon would often forget where he was up to anyway.

By using this form of “therapy” we found we became more understanding of what we were facing, we could know more about our son, we had better results because we could ensure consistency on an everyday basis, we could monitor his progress, and above all, we could educate everyone that we came into contact with about how to work with Brandon for best results – helping him to settle in an ordinarily unsettled environment.

You will find more tools, resources and information on this site, but for more support, my companion website ASD101.com is in the throes of developing an online support group.  Click Here to register your interest in our member’s only group.

Behaviour Restructure Specialist

Humans are more than their behaviours, more than others opinions, more than medical labels, more than assumptions; they are unique individuals that cannot be squashed into theorized boxes and treated with a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

Humans are all born with unique talents, personalities with many, many elements that all need to be nurtured and developed for success in their lives.

WotsNormal assists parents by identifying these needs and offering refreshing, realistic, practical and cheap ways to connect successfully with their children – label or no label.

Not only is WotsNormal able to assist parents to help their children experience success by setting the ‘bar’ higher in a healthy way that delivers great life skills to the child, this progression helps the child to learn the below skills and more that lead to a healthy future:

  • Self-instructions
  • Self-monitoring
  • Self-re-enforcement
